The Basics on Basic

If you haven't heard, it's perfume June! AKA - a month-long holiday I just made up because I wanted a reason to celebrate my glorious little natural perfumes.

I'm taking this opportunity to re-introduce each of my fragrances one-by-one, because I know you all are just dying to know everything there is to know about your favorite scent! ;)

And this one really is everyone's favorite - Basic is my top selling scent!

Official description:

BE BASIC. Twinkle Apothecary's Basic fragrance is sweet, clean, and an all-around crowd pleaser! It's yummy vanilla mixed with bright, citrusy orange and lemon, plus a dash of herbaly floral lavender. Think "grown up creamsicle pop." Wear it all day everyday… it's basically comfort in a bottle!

How it got it's name:

Well... When I first started experimenting with fragrances for Twinkle Apothecary, I was coming up with all of these fantastic, fun, creative ideas. But then I realized that if I wanted to have a profitable business, I needed to offer something really, well, Basic, that people wouldn't be afraid to try. And... yeah. It's my most popular scent. LOL!

My favorite is when people smell it and they say, "But it's so NOT Basic though! It's delicious!" Because I totally agree!

What it's made of:

basic perfume oils twinkle apothecary

Pure vanilla plantfolia from a co2 extraction, sweet orange essential oil, french lavender essential oil, and lemon essential oil.

Color:

Yellow! It's got quite a bit of dark vanilla and bright orange essential oils. It looks just as happy as it smells.

Viscosity:

Medium thick - thanks to all of the vanilla. You may notice some of the vanilla settling at the bottom of your roll on, or a bit of sediment floating in your perfume spray. I could double or triple filter it, but I think it would diminish a lot of that creamy vanilla-y-ness, and also I would have to charge more money for all the extra time it would take!

Top notes:

sweet vanilla, bright, citrusy orange and lemon

Middle notes:

fresh, floral lavender

Base notes:

creamy vanilla

Aromatherapy benefits:

Vanilla is comforting, lavender is very calming, and the orange and lemon are uplifting, happy scents. I'd recommend wearing this scent when you want to feel happy and relaxed. It's perfect for relieving anxiety and depression.

Pairs well with:

Goddess, Dolce Vita, Florcore, Mulholland, Adore

Give it your own unique twist by adding:

peppermint, violet leaf, ginger, cinnamon, patchouli, vetiver, amber, neroli, bergamot, chamomile, lime, grapefruit, lemongrass, palmarosa, ylang ylang, geranium

Staying power:

Good. The top, citrus notes don't last long, but the creamy vanilla notes will be there for quite some time. If you love vanilla, this is your scent!
