Cozy up with Close

Aw, Close. My least popular scent. I have no idea why people pass you over!
Is it the non-cutesy name? The muted gray-blue label? Rest assured that it's certainly not the scent, because you are absolutely lovely, my dear.
Today in my Perfume-June blog series, let's get cozy with close!
Official description:
Get Cozy. Twinkle Apothecary's Close fragrance is a soft, yet highly sophisticated blend of warm, sultry amber, soothing lavender, uplifting bergamot, and comforting vetiver. We like to think of it as the perfect winter date night fragrance, whether you're hitting the town or staying in with your favorite hand-knit socks and herbal tea.
How it got it's name:
There's no cute story here. I just thought that this was the kind of scent that makes you want to get really close to someone so you can take it all in, you know? Like, "Oh, you smell nice... oh, wait... what is that though??!" My goal with this one was to put a unique twist on my amber blend by making it really fresh and clean. It's truly a gender-neutral scent that both boys and girls seem to enjoy equally, so I guess I was going for something not-too feminine with the name.
What it's made of:
My signature amber blend, (a mix of benzoin oil, labdanum absolute, and vanilla co2) lavender oil, bergamot oil, and vetiver oil.
Color:
Dark yellow to tan, due to the high amber content.
Viscosity:
This one is SUPER thick. There will be a cloudy sediment in the bottom of the roll-on, and some specks floating in the spray. Amber just doesn't seem to dissolve in anything, and I feel like so much of the depth gets lost when I filter my fragrances more than once. Even though I love this scent, I don't give this to many of my shops because I'm worried people with think that the sediment means the perfume has gone bad. It hasn't. Just shake it up if the look of that delicious, sweet amber bothers you!
Top notes:
Fresh, clean lavender and bright, citrusy bergamot.
Middle notes:
Rich, sweet, (yes, almost powdery but in a good way!) amber.
Base notes:
Grassy vetiver and smoky amber.
Aromatherapy benefits:
Amber and vetiver are so grounding, with calming lavender, and uplifting bergamot. This is a really happy, relaxing scent. I think of it as a comforting rainy-day perfume. I also like to wear it before a restorative yoga class, or to bed! (So luxurious... you have to try it!)
Pairs well with:
Beau Spice, Dolce Vita, Duchess, Luscious, Mulholland
Give it your own unique twist by adding:
lemon, lime, neroli, vanilla, coffee, black pepper, clove, ginger, cedar wood, sandalwood, patchouli, jasmine, frankincense, violet leaf, eucalyptus, lemongrass, geranium, rosemary
Staying power:
Excellent. The combination of amber and vetiver that remains on your skin at the end of the day is just beautiful.
