What in the heck are Happy Hearts?!

Hi!!!!!!!!!
I am so excited to introduce my latest product to you,
CHOCOLATE!
(Yes, to eat!)
(Yup, just in time for Valentine's day! See what I did there?)
*UPDATE 1/30/18 UNFORTUNATELY I'VE HAD TO REMOVE THESE PRODUCTS FROM MY WEBSITE DUE TO A CONFLICT WITH THE SHOPIFY PAYMENT PROCESSING TERMS. (LAME, I KNOW.) THEY ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE IN MY STORE IN OKC AND I WILL SHIP THEM TO YOU IF YOU EMAIL ME @ STEFANIE@TWINKLEAPOTHECARY.COM *
Thanks for understanding, guys. See you in the store soon!
So, I know. It sounds crazy to go from making skincare to selling super(cute)foods - or, does it?
You see, Happy Hearts aren't just any chocolates. These are raw, fair trade, organic, vegan chocolates infused with full-spectrum cannabinoid oil (aka, CBD, aka hemp extract.)
Yes, it's perfectly legal!
No, it will not get you high!
(But it might just improve your mood...)
Okay, but why am I selling CBD chocolates though?!
Well, I don't think that it's any secret that I'm on a mission to live my best life. I've been pretty open about everything I do to support my wellbeing - mind, body, and spirit - which includes managing my anxiety. (Crazy though it may seem, being a single mom who runs a handmade business singlehandedly is not just one big walk in the park!) So whether if you're following me on instagram, reading my blogs, or talking to me in person here in my shop, you might have already caught a glimpse of me wearing my Body Vibes smart stickers, going to yoga at 6 am (hence all those pictures of the moon!) meditating, using aromatherapy before bed, and taking supplements like hormone balancing herbs, evening primrose, floral essences, (do we consider those supplements?) and CBD.
Realizing how powerfully all of these things have affected my life makes me want to share them with the world.
And, let's face it, adorable and delicious chocolates made with CBD were the most fun place to start. ;)
I found an amazing GMP certified organic supplier who let me put my own labels on the jars, because, how fun is that, and before I knew it they had arrived! To be honest I thought it would be a much more complicated, slower process, but it was so easy and quick, and I'm beyond thrilled that they arrived in time for Valentines day!
I also got an organic hemp oil supplement with a higher dosage of CBD for those of you who are looking for more.
So, why should you take CBD supplements?
First of all, disclaimer:
I am not a doctor, and cannot give you medical advice. Please check with your doctor before you begin taking any supplements to make sure it's right for you and to make sure that it won't counteract any other medications you're currently taking. The statements I provide on my website are for informational purposes only and are not intended to treat or cure any disease. I use the word "medicinal" on the label to denote that this is an ingestible supplement, not to imply that it is actually medicine.
Okay, phew...
CBD is the active compound in cannabis that is responsible for the plant's medicinal properties. THC, on the other hand, is the part of the plant that gets you high, and there is no THC present in CBD.
It's distilled from industrial grown hemp plants (again, legal) using a CO2 extraction, which is a heat-free, solvent-free way to derive the CBD compound from the plant leaving everything intact, so, basically, this is the good stuff.
CBD has been said to help with anxiety, insomnia, nausea and digestive issues, chronic pain, inflammation, migraines, pms, acne, and mood swings, among other things. It's also full of immunity boosting antioxidants.
Chocolate, (full of antioxidants on its own,) is a perfect carrier for CBD because the theobromine and caffeine content in cacao are vasodilators - meaning that they increase circulation. This can also increase the body's ability to absorb and utilize medicinal ingredients such as herbs and extracts. It's also a known mood-booster. Win-win!
So, each chocolate contains 2 mg of CBD, and it's recommended to start with one per day. Some people may notice the effects instantly, but for others the effects are cumulative, meaning that they happen over a period of time. I've personally been taking CBD for a couple of months now, and I'm loving the effects, combined  of course, with my meditation practice and all of the other things that I'm doing to feel amazing currently.
Those with chronic pain or other health issues might want to use a higher dose, or get the CBD oil which has 10 mg of CBD per serving instead. But if you're looking to unwind and ease every-day anxiety, I'd start with the chocolate. :)
So...
What do you think? Am I crazy? Are you down to try it? Eeeep! I can't wait to hear your thoughts!
-XO-
Stefanie
